Description
Solve challenges in the great outdoors with over 50 knots that every young explorer should know
Knot tying has become a lost art in this modern era of bungee cords, straps with buckles, and anything sticky. But it’s better to know a knot and not need it than to need a knot and not know it. There are plenty of situations and professions that still need knots—climbing, spelunking, sailing, lure tying, ranching, firefighting, and more! Whether your child loves exploring the outdoors or imagines a future working with their hands, they’ll be grateful to know how to tie a knot when they find themselves with a rope and a challenge!
Packed with fun exercises that get kids ready for applying their knot skills to real-life situations, The Kids Book of Knots covers 50 essential knots, from hitches and bends to fishing knots and knots with special purposes. Every page comes with simple instructions and detailed illustrations in graphic-novel style that make learning easy—for both kids and beginners. Incredibly useful and fun, the knots in this book will serve your child well throughout their entire life in whatever outdoor hobby or profession they choose. The next time somebody asks, “Can anyone tie a knot?” instead of saying, “I cannot,” they’ll be able to say, “I can knot!”
